Sauvignon Blanc, Reimagined
Where vibrant Sauvignon Blanc meets the elegance of French oak.
When people think of Santa Barbara County, Chardonnay usually comes to mind first—and for good reason. Our region has earned a reputation for producing everything from bright, mineral-driven styles to rich, beautifully oak-aged wines.
At Grassini Family Vineyards, though, Sauvignon Blanc is the only white grape we grow. Rather than choosing a single expression of it, we craft two distinctly different wines from the same vineyard.
Our Happy Canyon Sauvignon Blanc is the classic expression: bright, crisp, and vibrant, with notes of citrus and tropical fruit. It's made for warm afternoons, fresh seafood, and everything we love about California sunshine.
Our Sauvignon Blanc Reserve tells a different story. Aged in French oak, it develops remarkable texture and complexity, with layers of ripe stone fruit, citrus, and subtle baking spice wrapped in a rich, creamy mouthfeel. The oak adds depth and elegance without overshadowing the fruit.
It's a wine that surprises people. Guests who "don't usually drink Sauvignon Blanc" often find themselves ordering a second glass. And Chardonnay lovers frequently discover that the Reserve offers everything they enjoy—beautiful texture, thoughtful oak integration, and richness—while still preserving the freshness and vibrancy that make Sauvignon Blanc so distinctive.
That's what we love most about this wine. It's proof that a single grape can tell very different stories. Thoughtful winemaking can reveal entirely new dimensions of the same fruit.
It's also why growing just one white varietal never feels limiting. Every vintage is another opportunity to showcase Sauvignon Blanc's remarkable versatility—from the Happy Canyon's bright, refreshing energy to the Reserve's layered elegance.
Whether you're a longtime Sauvignon Blanc enthusiast or a Chardonnay devotee looking for something new, our Sauvignon Blanc Reserve offers a fresh perspective on a familiar grape—one that's uniquely Grassini.
