Our 2017 Estate Cabernet exemplifies why Happy Canyon is Santa Barbara’s premier region for growing Bordeaux varietals. This wine is rich in flavor and pulses with energy and vitality. Prominent flavors of red plum and cola greet the palate, along with subtle whispers of baking spice. Dense and concentrated, the mid-weight palate is velvety and nuanced, with a decadent, well-rounded mouthfeel.
The “Articondo” is named after Articondo Grassini, the first member of the Grassini family to leave Pisa, Italy and start a new life in America. Articondo loved to garden and cook alongside his wife Afiora. To honor their memory, this wine was crafted to be enjoyed with your favorite dishes in the company of loved ones.
"Equipo" is the Spanish term for "team," and we are fortunate to have had the same team ever since we first planted our vines. As an homage to them, we allocated a portion of our vineyard to our “equipo,” and gave them full control over that section. The crew is entrusted with farming decisions regarding irrigation, fertilization, pest control, pruning and everything else Mother Nature might throw at them! A portion of the profits are given back to the team as a small token of our appreciation for all that they do.
Our 2018 Sauvignon Blanc opens with pronounced bright notes of white flower, lemon curd, and mango on the nose, as well as an underlying hint of fresh wet grass. This wine has a lovely bright acidity with notes of elderflower, apricot and white grapefruit on the palate. The finish is long and lingers long after each sip, a reflection of the brief bit of oak fermentation.
