Dazzle your senses with tastings from more than 40 local and acclaimed chefs, food and beverage artisans and farmers. Additional highlights include live cooking demonstrations, specialty cocktails, wine and beer. While you enjoy the distinct tastes, sights and sounds of the region, the spirit of what Julia Child so loved about Santa Barbara will be brought to life.

What: Feast of Apicius
Where: Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History
When: Saturday, April 11th, 2-5pm


The name “Feast of Apicius” derives from the 1st century Roman epicure, Marcus Gavius Apicius, who inspired the world’s first cookbook “De Re Coquinaria”. At this event, chefs will create an appetizer adapted from one of the recipes from this ancient cookbook and can opt to participate in the top-chef cook-off with a panel of guest judges. Each appetizer will be paired with a carefully selected wine.

The region's premier wine and food festival returns Saturday, June 27, 2020 with another epic line up of wineries and food purveyors. Sip and savor 100+ of the Central Coast's best wineries and culinary delights while enjoying the Museum's beautiful, creekside setting under majestic redwoods and oak trees.

One hundred percent of the net proceeds from the Santa Barbara Wine + Food Festival supports the Museum’s nature and science education programs.

Join us aboard the Douple Dolphin and enjoy a glass of your favorite Grassini wine while taking in a spectacular Santa Barbara sunset! Members of Team GFV will be on board to pour the tastings and provide an education about the wines, while your Captain gives insights on the surroundings. Includes tasting with a reusable Santa Barbara Sailing Center Govino cup that you can take home.
