The 2014 vintage of the "Articondo" is a cuvee of all four red varietals we grow on the estate. Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine its fruit forwardness, with notable aromas of black cherry and plum. Petit Verdot offers a voluptuous backbone, with pronounced notes of dark fruit. The Merlot adds some weight mid-palate and provides the red fruit characteristics, while Cabernet Franc brings sage, graphite and herb.  These four varietals work beautifully together creating a savory, supple mouth-feel and richness.

The "Articondo" is named after Larry Grassini's grandfather - the first member of the Grassini family to leave Pisa, Italy and start a new life in America.  Articondo Grassini loved to garden and cook.  To honor him, this wine was crafted to compliment just about any meal.

Tasting Notes
"Composed of 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Petit Verdot, 18% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc, the 2014 Articondo has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and is scented of crème de cassis, preserved plums and chocolate box with hints of sautéed herbs and earth. Very full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it fills the mouth with baked berries and chocolaty layers, supported by approachable chewy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing on a spicy note." -Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate
"Bright red cherry, plum, kirsch, sweet spice and floral notes are nicely pushed forward in the 2014 Proprietary Red Blend Articondo. Bright, perfumed notes add an attractive upper register to the super-ripe, racy red-toned fruit." -91 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
