This Estate Cabernet Sauvignon represents the best of Happy Canyon’s moderate 2013 growing conditions.  Aromas of coffee, coconut and mint, accompany dark fruit flavors of blackberry and black cherry, while vanilla and caramel coat the palate. The powerful fruit, balanced with soft tannin and acidity, creates a luscious mouthfeel and beautiful finish.

We believe the old adage that great wines begin in the vineyard. High-density planting, vine crop reduction and hand-training and careful timing of the pick come together to produce the soft tannins and overall balance of the structure, vineyard acid levels, beautiful aromatics, and an elegant mouthfeel in the resulting wine.  The 2013 Grassini Family Vineyards Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is comprised of a number of small vineyard blocks. Each lot from the various blocks is fermented separately in small batches to ensure proper fermentation temperatures.

Only 864 cases produced.

Tasting Notes
"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is dark, rich and voluptuous. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, leather, smoke and licorice meld together nicely in the glass. The flavors are bold and unctuous throughout. With time in the glass, the 2013 finds a bit more freshness, but the style is very much built on plush dark fruit. Black cherry jam, smoke, mocha, new leather and spice add to the wine's lush, inviting personality." -Antonio Galloni, Vinous
