What: "Feast of Apicius" Fundraiser
Where: Santa Barbara Natural History Museum

You are invited to join Inside Wine Santa Barbara (IWSB) for the “Feast of Apicius” on October 20, 2018 from 2-5 pm at the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum. This delicious wine + food pairing event is the first of its kind in Santa Barbara as it honors the 1st century AD epicure Marcus Gavius Apicius. He was renown for his hedonistic pursuit of the finest cuisine and most lavish preparations. His passion for food inspired the world's first cookbook "De Re Coquinaria".

Attendees of the event will sample chef-prepared appetizers adapted from this cookbook. Besides meeting the chefs, attendees will also meet winemakers and proprietors pouring some of the best wines of the region.

The event will culminate in a top-chef competition where a panel of guest judges will award  “Tastiest” and “Most Creative” to the recipes adapted from the ancient Roman text. Proceeds benefit the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.

What: 9th Annual Chowder Fest

Join us for Chowder Fest on October 21st!

The first Santa Barbara Chowder Fest was first held in 2010 as a charity cook-off benefit for the Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County. Since then, Chowder Fest has grown to an annual “must attend” event for the area’s best chefs and restaurateurs vying for bragging rights of “Best Chowder in Santa Barbara.”

Numerous local wineries (including GFV!) and brewers will be serving samples to taste, and there will be live music and silent auction. Proceeds benefited the Legal Aid Foundation and its mission to provide high-quality legal services to ensure that low-income persons and seniors have access to the civil justice system in times of crisis, and to secure safe, habitable shelter, adequate income and protection from domestic violence and elder abuse.

What: 2nd Annual Presidio Holiday Stroll
Where: Wineries of the Presidio Neighborhood, Downtown Santa Barbara
When: Saturday, December 1st, 1:00-4:00pm


The Wineries of the Presidio Neighborhood are excited to announce our 2nd Annual Presidio Neighborhood Holiday Stroll!

Tickets are $50/person, which purchases a logo glass and a passport for two tastes of wine at each location, (Au Bon Climat, Frequency Wine Company, Cebada Wines, Margerum Wine Company, Jamie Slone Wines, Grassini Family Vineyards, Happy Canyon Vineyard and Silver Wines) as well as small food bites in each tasting room. We will also have a designated driver ticket for $20/person. 

This year we are raising money for a local non-profit: Food from the Heart, a Santa Barbara organization that prepares & delivers healthy nutritious food once a week to those in our community who are dealing with major illnesses, surgeries, or failing health and cannot take care of themselves. 

100% of ticket sales, as well as 100% of raffle ticket sales will be donated to Food from the Heart. Some of the tasting rooms will also be donating up to 20% of sales made that day between 1-4pm. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to taste some great wines, nibble on delectable food bites, get to know your backyard a little better, while supporting an amazing organization!

What: "Grassini Gives Back" Charity Wine Event

Join us in our NEW tasting room on Sunday, December 9th for our 7th Annual "Grassini Gives Back" Charity Event! 

Over the past seven years, our Grassini Gives Back event has raised nearly $142,000 for a wide variety of deserving Santa Barbara charities. The organizations we've partnered with have addressed a wide variety of issues, including programs to battle homelessness, educational programs at organic farms, local hospice homes, programs for developmentally disabled teenagers, and meal delivery services for homebound individuals, among many others. 

This event is a wonderful way to take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle, ease your shopping stress, and enjoy some wonderful wines for a great cause!
